I searched, and came up more or less empty handed, since nothing matched my particular situation.

How does the computer system handle a faulty knock sensor? Is it hard to start, does it change fueling, etc.

Thanks guys.

I'm not sure, but I'm in need of help in this section too. I just rebuilt my motor, and noticed my knock sensor is kinda dry-rotted and cracked. I looked into getting another one, but 200+$ was kinda steep. I'm gonna go out and check the impedance(OHM's) here in a second and search google a bit more. I was gonna be lazy and worry about it later, but I may as well help someone else out while I'm at it.. lol *edit* My multi-meter is a POS swing needle and only does KOHM's. Gonna go borrow a digital one.

its supposed to go into a safe timing map(on stock ecu anyways, i believe ethalpy changes this, or jwt, if you have 1 of those).

there's somebody in the classifieds section sellin'em cheaperhttp://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=179507 <<he's a good seller, i bought a J30 diff from him and it works fine.

Nah just pulls timing on acceleration.

Well it was worth a try. I have had a code 34 forever and just checked the main harness with a resistance on the wire of 1.2Mohms - so I have a break in the wire.

I was just gonna strip the wire back on either end about an inch and solder a parallel wire into the circuit.

But I am having a serious hard start issue, with no reason for it. I will try a few more things, and then I am putting my whole KA-t setup for sale. I have to get a job soon, and need a reliable car.

BTW, if anyone is interested, email me.

yup I've been running code 34 forever so I changed the knock sensor (which by the way is one hell of a PITA) and it still feels hesitant under acceleration I'm guessing I need to reset the ECU or something. I've also heard that it runs in "safe" mode and will limit your rpms to only like 4k but I'm not sure on that one (i'm still breaking in my clutch)

Knock sensor shouldn't run in a limp home mode, and should not require reset. It only responds to knock and jumps to the knock map. I only brought it up because I have a broken wire and thought I read somewhere that it caused a hard-start condition. I must just still be running too much fuel... soon to be fixed... maybe...

KA-t maybe still for sale.
