Hello, i've tried to search around the web for an answer but couldnt find any.. so i'll try here then!

i just bought solid engine mounts for my ca18det and im running with stock ecu..

ive heard that the knocksensor retards the ignition with the stock ecu, when it detects "knock". which will result in loss of power..

will anything happen if i unplug the knocksensor? is there somekind of a "safe-mode" if u drive without it?

hope for some serious answers.

regards Patrick from norway

Hey Patrick.

Yes, the ECU has seperate maps for fuel and ignition under knock conditions. With the knock sensor unplugged, you will find it very frustrating.

There is no reason to unplug the sensor. It is there to save your motor if it detects knock. You will not lose any power as long as your car is running good.

Ah. Not familiar with that chip. I would ask the tuner about the knock sensor not being connected.
