so im following this guide http://www.angelfire.com/geek/vg30dett/ ... Rel01.html

towards the end it says to use a crush washer. is there a purpose to use a crush washer in this instance?? when i took a run to the hardware store, i grabbed a lock washer instead. would that suffice, or does a crush washer have to be used?? or could i just go w/out a washer on top of the knock sensor.

A crush washer is typically made out of a soft metal and has the ability to form a seal. A lock washer is typically made out of a harder metal and is designed to grip.

ok, so i got around to trying the relocation today. following the tutorial that i posted above, using the same bolt location that everyone else has pictured, when i put in the threaded rod that is about 105mm in length, it just keeps going. like, it went down so far that the top of the bolt where i cut the slit(just like the tutorial) it was still going down past the surface. trying to put the bolt through the bolt hole that is on the "mirrored" side of the engine, the bolt "hits" a bottom with only about 20mm of it sticking out from the surface. any ideas??

thats actually the pic from the site that i followed the tutorial of, but thats pretty much what i did. I picked up a 110mm long bolt, cut off the head of it to just be a threaded rod, about 105mm in length. trying to screw that bolt into the relocation spot, it went all the way in past the top of where the original bolt goes down to.

I was able to do this relocation after finding a socket head bolt that measures M8 - 1.25 x 100
