I'm going to be replacing the knock sensors on my 99 soon. I understand the Nissan sensors are not the greatest but could be wrong. Can anyone recommend good quality replacements?

Also, besides the intake manifold gaskets, are there any other parts I should pick up beforehand to do this job? Any other procedures I should undertake at the same time too?

Thanks in advance.

If you buy genuine Nissan parts, that is by far the safest bet. Also the most expensive. The ones on eBay and Amazon are frequently counterfeit knockoffs. If I were to take a chance on something outside of a dealer part, I'd go for the Hitachi part on Rock Auto. They're about $44 each.

There are some interesting threads on here about replacing the sensors without removing the intake, so if you have small hands and are patient, it might be worth not disturbing other stuff if you don't think there's other things that need to be fixed.

Thanks for the tips.

Got a chuckle the other day. Some guy saw my car and said "I love this car! It looks like a Japanese mafia car."
