Question concerning a 92 240SX w/ KA24DE.

If the engine detects knock how much timing does it pull? If the ecu goes into a safe mode, will it reset itself after a length of time?

If knock is detected, will it show up as an engine code, or is that only if there is a problem with the sensor, wiring, or ecu?

Is it possible to bypass this sensor, even just temporary to see if this is what is causing timing retard?

Dont know how much it holds back on the advance. It will reset everytime the key is cycled.

It wont show a code for knock only if the circuit goes open. It will not ever turn on the check engine light. The only by pass is to unbolt it from the block and mount it somewhere less prone to detect knock.
