I searched but couldn't find what I was looking for. I hate the new search. Anyways, the clutch fan caught the wiring harness, unplugged a bunch of stuff. Ripped the plug off the MAF and fried it. Messed up the CAS too. I bought a new MAF and dizzy. My old plug wires were sticking and were starting to pull apart when I unplugged them. Bought some Accel wires. Before, I had the wires just spliced together on the old MAF and it wouldn't run worth a s*** and would smoke black smoke like no other. With all the new stuff on it, it no longer smokes and idles better, but still acts like its missing. I've still got a code for the knock sensor. If it was bad or unplugged, would it make it run like s***?
I'm in the process of buying a new wiring harness right now, so can't comment on the wiring yet. Although, I did pull all the insulation off of the wiring harness back to the #4 injector and don't see any broken wires unless the individual wire is broke under its insulation. Would a bad knock sensor make it run bad? When you first start it up, it idles fine, but the second you give it any gas, it starts running bad again. Also, what is the easiest way to access the knock sensor? I've felt around under the intake manifold, but can't reach it. Does it have to be taken off? Thanks!!

it does run like garbage with the knock sensor busted, you can get to it by a long extension through the intake manifold runners. There is a thread somewhere.

Yeah it's a pain to get to on the KA. I found one of those telescoping magnets really useful, and every extension I owned on for my ratchet.

In the KA24DE bin, a bad/disconnected knock sensor will cause the timing to be retarded 6 degrees.
