Can you use the knock sensor from the KA24DE? Reason I ask is, the one that came on my motor is broken...literally. I COULD jb weld the green plastic tip back on, but I'd rather not be ghetto about it.

pretty sure you can't.

you can use one from the J30 maxima (08/88+ VG30E) or Z31 (08/87+ VG30T) or KN13 pulsar (09/86+ CA16DE / CA18DE) directly (matching part #'s)

I recall something about using a SR sensor if you rewireed your harness to work with its connector but I don't recall if that actually turned out to work or not...

The problem with the KA-DE and SR knock sensors is that they are totally different. If you ever saw one, you'd understand. On the CA the actual sensor threads into the block. On the KA-DE and SR there is a bolt that threads in through the middle of the sensor and holds the sensor in that way. I've HEARD that the KA-DE/SR is a better knock sensor, but you'd have to rewire the harness. Not nessicarly major though either.
