I searched and found the CA ECU pinout diagram on here a couple of days ago, andd it said that the knock sensor wire is on pin #23. I also read that all I would need to do is put a wire from the knock sensor straight to the #23 pin on the ECU.

So, yesterday, I tried it. My knock sensor wire was already cut in the engine bay, so I cut it near the ECU and soldered a new wire in. I ran it through the firewall and the the little bit of white wire that was on the knock sensor. When I went to start the car, it would not fire. It would turn over, but the LEDs on the ECU would no longer light up when I turned the key. Did I do something wrong? Is it possible that my ECU is wired differently?

Thanks,Mike

Why'd you go and run all that wire? there are two wires for it right in the engine compartment. i know i labeled the white one at least. the other one is just to ground i think. i'll take a look under my hood in the morning.

hey, i had the same problem. maybe this will help.. i directly connected the knock sensor to my ecu (as you did) because the sohc never came with a knock sensor. just wanted to make sure, what color wire did you use? the black one is the shield.. dont have to use that one. use the white one and hook it up to the ecu pin #23 and make sure you didnt use the ecu upside down when you hooked it up.. just make sure the number is top side thats on the side of the ecu. and if this doesnt work.. check your main ecu power on the wires behind the battery and main ignition (the 2 wires into 1) my aim name is thisskyonfire if you need help man. iv been through this before..
