Okay, this is I think the newest Knock Sensor post I can find. I am pulling the P0325. It pulled the code in January, and I was having other work done at the time. My manual transmission PNP sensor was bad and I couldn't reach it so took it in to be replaced and had the fuel injectors cleaned after over 180k miles. The codes were cleared, new transmission sensor has the car running smoother when out of gear, etc.
Anyway the P0325 just came back on. I need to know if there is a way to get to the knock sensor on the 1999 Nissan Maxima VQ30 without removing the intake manifold. If I must remove the intake manifold is it safe to say I will need to replace one or more gaskets? Basically I don't want to start the job without having all the parts needed to get it back together properly. I know I also need the knock sensor harness, or may only need the harness. But with over 180k miles I can't argue about needing to replace anything for the first time.
I also pulled a P0135 this morning. Rather than an O2 sensor it is the front heated O2 sensor heater, right bank. I've replaced a pair of the rear heated O2 sensors over the years and they are easy to find online. I can't find much on the O2 sensor heater. Obviously if this is indeed bad it could be causing the knock that is tripping the P0325.
