Ok guys here is the deal. I had a knock sensor code. I checked the ohms on them at the harness. I could not get a reading on one and the other was around 210ohms so I assumed both were bad.

I got new knock sensors off Ebay and now I have a world of problems.

1.) With the new sensors installed I can't get a reading (at the harness) on either one. I have tested with key on and key off. If I put the old ones back in I still get the same readings (210)

I don't want to put everything back together until I am sure they new sensors are working.

Any ideas. I have searched the all the old posts concerning KS and haven't been able to figure it out.

Thanks in advance.

I guess thats next on my list.

I didn't order it initially because it seemed fine. I get continuance (sp) through the wires with very low resistance. The out side sheathing of the harnees seems pretty backed but the wires inside seemed okay.

92 VH in an S13 chassis

Edit: Where are you guys getting parts from. My local Inf. dealer wanted $167 for the harness. I've seen some people talk about "Joe" where is he from?

Joe Tesensky is the parts manager at IoS (Infiniti of Scottsdale). At 25% of MSRP, very hard to beat for OEM parts.

eBAy = Great Unknown.

Did you test them be fore you installed them?

Did you test the old ones once they were out? What was their appearance?

Have you read the posts on KS replacement? New harness?

The word is continuity.

Not sure how to test them out of the vehicle

Old ones are cracked and look pretty corroded

Yes I have read every post concerning knock sensors on NICO. I thought I might be able to get away with keeping the old harness since it tested OK. I plan on ordering the harness on Monday.

Yep thats the word I was looking for. I knew I was close

We don't want you head on to a semi at 80 mph passing and having a KS signal drop out from an intermitent KS or harness...........and suddenly losing 30HP.
