Do you have a FSM (factory service manual) for your car? If not you can dl one here:

http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Altima/1995_Altima.rar

Just right click and save to your pc.

You should be able to find the location of your knock sensor in there. Once you get to the sensor you'll find it's fastened with a bolt through it. Remove the bolt, unclip the wiring connector and install the new one.

BTW, Welcome to NICO!

Everything I read says get a new one since it effects low end performance. Check Ebay they sart around $50 bucks and you know you are getting a good one that way. Link did not work for me either. There are other post and how to's on this site that may help you. I am new to this forum also but have found it quite helpful. Udnder the car-specific Sites link above you may find what you are looking for. Good Luck.

do NOT buy a used one, its kinda like buying a used fuel pump or used fuel injector. Do you like to do things twice???? Then get brand new ks...

The knock sensor is located under the intake manifold. It's situated right about the middle of the front of the engine. It's raining out or I'd go get a picture for you. At the dealer, it calls for 4 hours of labor but it doesn't take that long if you know what you're doing. I'll see what I can do for a picture tomorrow.

This may have been helpful if he had a 240. He's got a Maxima. Thanks for the thought though.
