I am replacing both KS, do I have to replace the harness as well even if it seems intact when I get down there?

It is highly recommended, since it's a common failure item. I went down this road years ago... replacing the sensors but leaving the old harness in there, only to have it fail a few months later. Now I'm going through the same though process again... risk it or spend the $$$ now?

One harness, and you will be glad you don't have to go back for ten years unless you passed on something else you shouldn't have.

Ok thanks guys. Just washed the Q, looking good now I just gotta get it running good haha .

Another question though, I am replacing the spark plugs and I was advised to be very carefull as the ignition coils/coil packs will be very brittle and break during the job. Does anybody have any tips to prevent this?

The coil packs are pretty stout but the harness that plugs into them gets very brittle. The wire insulation gets cracked and the plastic connectors get brittle. I think that spraying some lubricant into each of the connectors 10 minutes before you pull them would help loosen things up.

Keep in mind that the coil boots are replaceable separately - and they're not that expensive. If you have any standing oil in the plug galleys you will want to reseal the valve covers at the same time - and may want to replace the boots as well.

RTV on the early VH45DE.

Do them as it is much easier when it is all apart.
