I figured out that my code is for a knock sensor but when i pull the code it says knock sensor # 2. I know there are 2 of them but which KS is the #2 one. I dont want to replace the good one and still have the bad KS and have to take the intake manifold back off to get to it again.

Always do both and the harness as 1 operation, and be done with it.

Qship96 is correct. Bank 2 is passenger bank on LHD models.

But you won't want to repeat so replace both and the harness.

Its all about saving multiple labor charges....as the parts are much cheaper than the cost to get to them

You might want to read the posts on the under plenum hose job. Chances are you will cut or destroy a few on your way in, and you have to go all the way in to get to the KS. Think about valve cover gaskets and sparkplugs also.

Sorry for jumping-in on your posting, but I have to ask... as I'm new to the Q and have not found a repair manual. How did you find out the codes that you're currently investigating. What are the steps, do you need a "tech tool" or does the computer flash a code on the dash like many other vehicles? Again, sorry but I'm trying to do some repairs on my newly acquired 1990 Q45. Thanks a lot!!!

Download the 1994 Q FSM [closest available year in *.pdf format] and read the first 6 sections about 300 pages over and over and over until you can recite them from memory then you are ready to actually read codes and decide what needs repairing..............THEN reread the pages concerning what your guess is.

It is so much easier with a $6000 Consult II Diagnostic Display but you still must read and refer to the FSM.
