Is P0325 the only engine code?

It allows the engine computer to sense pre detonation is occuring. While it does not create a fail on emmissions testing, some have felt they got better mileage after having it fixed.

Real bear to correctly fix. Entire intake all the way down to the block has to come off. Then it is a single bolt and connector swap.

Some people splice a new sensor and attach it to a secondary location. Check ytube for knock sensor pathfinder and you will see.

I ordered the sensor off eBay last night for under $10.00 but does anyone know where I am to buy the harness though? The video on YouTube was very informative by the way.

Nice link, and very timely.

I have been riding with a PO136 (REAR HO2S RIGHT BANK) error code in addition to the PO325 (KNOCK SENSOR). I was wondering, does it matter if the new KS is no longer in the interior of the engine? Will the external engine mount (as done in the youtube video, thanks Leo) work just as effectively as the internal one in accurately detecting knocking vibration?

Also, I was told to check/fix/replace the KS and in doing so I may not have to address the Heated O2 SENSOR, is this true?

You can safely ignore a rear oxygen sensor heater code indefinitely as long as you don't need the SES light off in order to pass inspection. I've ignored a P0138 code for 6 months or so now, it comes and goes. I've got a new direct-fit sensor (some off-brand RockAuto piece of junk, rear O2 isn't important) and the proper socket, just gotta find the time and motivation to replace it.

As for the KS location, I think having it on the exterior of the engine may decrease its accuracy, but it should still work well enough. I know of WD21 owners who have relocated theirs without issues.

Should, or would, I be able to currently be noticing the misfire and other associated troubles of the faulty KNOCK SENSOR? (I ask because I do not perceive a noticeable difference in the engine performance, although I suspect a diminished MPG return.)

And, do you think that I would be able to detect any difference due to an externally mounted KN?

Thanks!

Typically a knock sensor code is associated with some other engine code; in other words, P0325 is a side effect of some other engine code (misfire, timing improper, etc). If the knock sensor itself is at fault, then it could cause your issues if it is retarding timing too much in error. Try checking the resistance of the knock sensor against reference values listed on page EC-177 of the factory service manual.
