theres a knock in my engine.sounds like it's coming from the top in the valve cover gasket.camshaft bearing?

check the chain guides.

iremoved the chain guides a long time ago...perhaps i have to tighten the tensioner???

it's not when idleing, it's when i step on the gasit's @ around 3000 rpms

the tensioner is spring loaded. Are the guides on tight though? it could be bolts working their way out and rattling about. Or at least you should pray for that since it's simple and wont cause too much damage...
