are you refferring to the MSD knock alert? there is no special wiring about it. it's just 1 positive and 1 negative and then you connect the sensor wire to the display unit.

On the EXHAUST side of the engine BLOCK, you will see several holes with thread that the knock sensor's fitting can fit perfectly into. CAREFUL though because I accidentily overtightened the fitting too much and it snapped easier than I thought. Hopefully the other holes are still effective enough for the knock alert.

The knock alert is very sensitive so you're going to have to set it accordingly.

You don't want the exhaust side, you want the intake side. You can tap into the factory knock sensor wiring or install your sensor in any threaded hole on the intake side. The intake side is quieter. When I tuned mine, I had my car running to where I knew I was getting no knock, for me it was 8 psi, running semi rich and pulling .5 degree's of timing per lb. Set the sensitivity to indicate no knock under these conditions, that way when you actually have knock, it'll pick it up. It will indicate some knock, or should I say noise at times, but the KA is a noisy motor. Watch for steady indication and high peaks.

Thanks for the info, I guess I should consider switching sides.

WD - I've always been meaning to ask you how far do you trust your MSD knock alert? For example, with messing around with a alky injection kit? tell me some steps you take as precaution when using the MSD knock meter as a monitor.
