some one please help, after days and nights of searching and treading through millions of post i have come to find that the most common reason you hear that ticking/klanking noise (like metal on metal) and after i gone and took the tc cover off i found its not the guide that is messed up, and that the tc and quide are brand new (just bought car a month ago) and im just wondering if there is anything else that it could be... when ever the car is running it seems like you can actually fell the lifters knocking on the valve cover and the speed of the noise also increaces with rpms. if anyone could :help it would be much appreciated... thanks

its your ka24e hydraulic lifter/lifters making the noise. you need to replace the ones that are defective.

How do you tell a defective lifter? My KA24E makes an s load of noises, and two of the 12 lifters are a little loose. Theres some play and none of the others have play. I'm assuming this means those two are bad?
