Does anyone on here have any experience with this piece of kit? It looks awesome, and the company claims an additional 17 hp over the stock plenum in NA applications, but for some reason i have a difficult time believing that figure. Can anyone out there justify the $800 that I would have to drop? Or should i just stick with a basic spacer.

also, i have no intention of going FI with this car, (FI gains for the SSV are out of this world)

thanks for the help, you guys are the best

Unless you want some expensive bling, I'd just get the spacer. Now if you go FI, then it might be worth it...

i've heard from a few performance shops around here that the plenum you speak of has been dyno'd and actually dosn't add any hp/tq.

I have the black kinetix plenum and it does just fine, might want to go with a crawford or just a plain spacer from various manufacturers.

which plenum? if you get the upper plenum you don't need a spacer. It's pretty much one or the other. Ive called kinetics and they said if you use that black plenum of theirs with a spacer you are only looking at a few hp gains. Not worth the money for both. But you can always get the MREV2. The MREV2 and spacer have been prooved to add a nice gain. It's been in a few magizeens and showed the dyno gains.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought the mrev2 isnt worth getting if you have a non-revup engine. i.e. mealthough i'm looking at the motordyne website and they say that there is a $100 rebate for a 'core exchange' for people who have a non-revup motor. anyone know what thats about?

I didn't notice you were a fellow 03 owner. From what i know it is not worth it to get the MREV2. I have not gotten a straight answer because i was curious about that same topic. I should call motordyne one of these days and see what they have to say.

Either way the spacers are pretty cheap, pretty easy to change yourself, and stealthy enough to use with the factory cover. (some people like the cover, i ripped mine off the first chance i got)

Phone is quicker. They usually post a phone number on the website.
