This part is on an r34 gtr so i thought it would be acceptable to ask on the GTR forums. does anybody know what this little element looking thing is on the front of the intercooler? i've tried nicosearch, google, turbocharger manufacturers no one has an answer.

Or, it could be a CO2 sprayer. CO2 and N2O can be sprayed externally on the intercooler for a colder intercooler. It's like a water sprayer on the WRX top mount intercoolers.

Think of it like this.

Blow on your hand. Kinda cool right?

Now, lick your your hand, then blow on it again. It's colder isn't it.

It's a way to lower your charge air temp even more when at speed. Colder air means more dense air which means a bit more horsepower.

Get a late pass. I was spraying freon on mine years ago. Even the HKS drag guys couldn't figure it out.
