Been looking around alot and trying to find a cheap 240sx for sale and finaly found one that i got for 2250 when the person wanted 3200.

1989 coupe white and gold with a 350 small block in it.
Runs and drives strong.

The bad it has no mufflers just headers and thats about it so it is really loud.
fuel gauge don't work
no speedo
needs a little TLC on the inside.
And no ac.

Will post pics tommorrow.

I'm curious to see the quality of the swap. Hopefully it was not an all out hack job. :squint:

Sounds like a fun car. Is the 350 carb'd or fuel injected? Is the stock rear end still in it?
Search for an article about KA24E to KA24DE swap and inside it you'll have the colors for each of the wires for the gauge cluster, and where to find them under the dash. At the least, you can hook up your fuel level. Maybe check out 'painless' to get the other gauges going, unless you're doing your own.

it had the electric hud that would display speed on the windsheild but the person that did the swap could not stand seeing it on the windsheild so just unhooked it for some reason. It is carbed 670 holley carb. With the electric choke. wanting to put a pig noise on it. not a real fan of the 89 front bumper.

And almost forgot that i have to hook up the electric choke that it has, the person i got it from just zip tied it so it would stay open. Did have a 600 holley carb but then they changed it to a 670 holley that has a electric choke instead of a manual choke.

It does still have the original 240 rear axle in it.

And here are some pictures of it.

Its good to see some pics. Sadly the swap does kinda look like a hack job but I have faith that you will clean it up.. Tuck some things hear and there ect..

when you get to it, please lower that two-tone line to the appropriate place. it looks so ridiculous on the upper body line.

Well that will have to wait a while but was thinking of going with flat black or black purple pearl for the color but going to do other stuff first.

Going to be putting power steering back in it and get the guages to work and try to figure out why only one head light works when the brights are on.
might even relocate the battery back under the hood and not in the trunk.

would not even temp to do that. Do to the fact that the color and 01 belong to one car and that would be a dodge cahrger and that people are putting that crap on geos and every other car that they get there hands on. Thats like say you going to make a nissan look like a gostbuster vehicle. I have seen that on a vw bettle. :wtf2:

Fixed a small coolent leak that it had know 2 of the guages decided not to work after doing the fix. The thermostate housing gasket was replaced and found out that the person that put the engine together did not put a gasket in there and thought that the housing had a little rubber ring and that would make a good seal instead of just spending a 2 bucks for a gasket. Just got to figure out what suspension i should put in there that will handle the wait of the 350. still working on trying to get the guages to work just have not looked at those yet hopefully soon i will have those working soon.

The extra weight of the 350 isn't really significant enough to necessitate different suspension, unless you just want to upgrade anyway. The short block weight difference is less than 50 pounds.

Well that is good to hear that i don't have to try to find some thing else to put in there that can handle the weight of the motor.

So far i have replaced the ac fans that were in the car to keep the radiator cooled with high performance fans that do the job alot more better than the old ones in it. And replace the ground wires with bigger wire and the wire that goes to the alternator.

Who ever thought of putting a wire size of a pen for the altnator must have not thought about charging the batter much since i have changed it the battery has not gone dead on me like it has been.

And the two tone paint that is on the car is not really a two tone since the previous owner just taped of the top and painted white. the origanal color of the car is the gold color that is on the bottom witch they should have just left it alone.
