So as some of you may know, I was bidding on a set of coupe door panels a while back and then asked ya'll to help me out with what I should be looking to pay for them. Luckily, I lost the bid (I was bidding up to 70 bucks).

Last week, I hit a junkyard and scored a set of coupe door panels for 10 bucks a pop. Yeah me.

Anyways...looks like I am gonna join the "non vert door panels" club soon. I'll keep yah posted...

Anways, the yard had 4 240's in there...if anyone on this forum is in the nj area, it was a "u Pull It" near berlin, NJ. So go ahead and scrape what you can if you need parts.

^ Yep.

Or, go back and get the doors too - Save yourself a TON of work.

agreed, cause even after you cut everything off coupe door panels still need to be banged on there. And you can upgrade to power mirrors. The hardest part is unplugging the door harness, then you use a punch to drive out the door pins, after that all you have to do is loosen the 2 rear most fender bolts (on at the top by the mirror, facing the rear, and 1 in the wheel well facing the front) and the 3 on top in the engine compartment and the fender will move enough for you to slip your ratchet underneath and get the 4 12mm bolts that hold the door on.. If you are getting it from a junkyard just cut the harnesses off where they go into the doors, it will save you some time and you'll have the power mirror harnesses you'll need to do the wiring for that later.

You know, I was thinking of getting the doors. And I DID spend some time sifting thru AZ's lenghty post about the conversion...at the end of it, I was a bit confused...

I left thinking that if I did grab the entire doors, then I would have to move over the vert specific glass (unless the glass is not specific to a model).

Thats why I left the doors there b/c that's something I just didnt want to do.

Are you telling me that I can just grab the whole doors, and then do the wiring for the power windows..and then im done? I figured doing the panel conversion only would be the simplest way.

I know you have pics on the post of what exacty to cut off - so I figured I do the same. I have a set of racing harnesses so I dont have to worry about the stock belts.

Also, about the power mirrors: Would you believe I actually took apart a set and then left them there? They were selling them to me for 30 bucks for the pair. I left them their b/c I relized the power mirror switch lies in the same place where our rear window switch is. Even if I were to use that switch, I would have to mount it somewhere else - and in all honesty, it's a nice to have - but I don't want to spend an afternoon wiring **** up. I already got an alarm job I got to take care of this weekend.

you don't have to move the glass at all...the doors bolt right on, the only thing you have to do (and you have to do this for coupe door panels too) is to remove that top latch that sticks out, otherwise it hits the coupe door panels. and you'll want to switch door handles so you can keep your ignition key for the doors as well. You don't have to rewire for power windows at all, just unplug the vert door, then plug the coupe door in, the plugs are the same.

Good job top_secret.

You might have racing harnesses, but where are you attaching them?

Might not have considered that part...

Ummm, there is a guide - I wrote it.

No need for a sawzall or a lot of blades - a cutoff wheel and a grinder works better.
