kind of weried issue with my timing on KA24e.

Ok guys i have quite a bit of a problem with my 240. Ok i bought the car with a rebuilt motor and they didnt finish it. Me being such a dumbass took out the motor and never turned it on. well after a while i removed the emssions and peiced together a turbo. well I started the and it ran like Balls, Ran really rich. Took out the dist and saw i was off on the tieeth. so i put it back on put some new plugs and replaced TPS,Coolant sen, and O2. she started up nice and smooth compared to befor, still a little jumpy so i checked the timing and it was off, So i adjusted it and Bam perfect, she ran and idled like a sleeping cat. I turned it off and went to get something to eat. so i comeback and start the car and idled fine and then again the stumbiling and a littlebit of backfiring. Recheck the timing and again it was off exactly where it was before readjusted the timing and it ran perfect. Turned off the car and again it like resets its seld and i have readjust it. Well this as good as i can describe it. By the way i did disconect the Bat everytime i turned it off and my ALT fuse is Bad..kinda it comes on and off I soddered the damnthing. So time show blank the comes on....but does it have anything to do With the Timng? Please help the Pancho out.Thanks

Ok im kinda confused here. I warm up the car to the normal temp. shut the car off and then unplug TPS harness conector. turn car on it idles way up there at like 1800rpm. I try and lower it with the idle screw but its way off to lower it any further. so the mark are wayyy off from the pin. and i cant turn the dist far enough. any help would be greatly apreciated.Thanks
