Has anyone ever removed all the interior panels and trim, and resprayed it? (I will be using a spray gun) The main things I am worried about are removing the dash and console area, but seeing as I need a new dash, that should be too big of a worry. I am also thinking much about doing a sub setup like the one in the 240sx.org installs, with just one sub in the back seat panel. I am also considering getting a harness bar put it. I don't really think there is a neccisity for the harness bar, seeing as it will eliminate all use of the back seat and be welded in, I just am not sure where to secure harness belts though otherwise (yes, seat noob).
The other thing that I am interested in is getting new carpeting/flooring all around, would this be a hard thing to do yourself?
I hear interior spray, even good stuff, will fade after a couple years, is this true?
Are there any colors that I should avoid that will reflect off the windshield from the dash?
Hrm...what else. Getting the hatchback back seat re-apolstered down the line, how much will this be running?
The major theme of the car is going to be black and light grays/slightly metallic silvers inside, with a graphite color outside.
As far as specifics, I was thinking all the panels (door, back seat, dash) will be sprayed a light grey. Possibly the door handles and window knobs a metallic silver (possibly). All the trim will be either black or clear cord, the seats either straight black, or black and silver.
I am trying to keep the look clean, but I am also wondering if the scheme is too bland. Blah. I was originally going to have it black grey and blue, but the blue kind of sat as too ricey with me. I want something sharp and slick rather than showey, OH SHIET DAWG CHECK HIS ISH OUT SON type interior.
Your input and expierence with other 240s or cars in general with custom interior would be nice.
I know this project will take some moneys, but the first step is getting the whole interior resprayed, which should only take time and $50 in paint and whatnot. The seats, stearing wheel, reapolstering, etc, that's where the wallet will be hit =*(.
Thanks guys.
