ok i just bought a 90 240 w/ a redtop sr20the car will die at very low rpm, not idle, but if i give it a little burst of gas and then completely let off and push the clutch in the engine will rev all the way down to around 200 rpm everytime and sometimes kill

from what i can gather the guy that i bought it from said if you drive it right, it wont die, this means almost never depressing clutch, except when shifting, and engine braking...i would like to fix this problem, he said something like since the car has an atmospheric blowoff that it is tricking the computer and the computer doesn't know what air/fuel to use so he said i should get a air/fuel management system or put on the stock intake w/o the blow off...i don't want to go back to stock so any help would be greatly appreciated, if you need any more info on mods just let me know:> thx

Exactly how bad is the problem, because I am thinking about going atmospheric. I know if you get SAFC it is supposed to do hot-wire correction, plus you could tune. Have you tried just disconnecting the vaccum to the BOV to test if it really is the valve causing the problem. I would think if you disconnected that line, and then tried it again, the problem would fix itself if that was all that was wrong with the car. Also, what sort of valve is it? I wonder if it is one of the better brands out there, if you couldn't get some sort of recirc adaptor, so that you could have it all. Just my $.02.

it BARELY affects driving the car, it's the big stinky hks bov...sounds hot as hell:>

the first night i got the car i probably killed the car 10+ times, i've had it only a week and it doesn't kill anymore but it's because i adjusted to it, i just need to get it tuned, i'll test out ur theory on it in a lil bit here, thx!
