I don't think anybody has EVER given a FIRM date on when this was going to be released. Only estimates. To take an estimate as a DEFINED release date is stupid. All we can do is wait.

Actually, Bobby at Bullydog said on the 6th that it would be out in 2 weeks. I understand it's not a notarized press release from Bullydog hand delivered to us by the owner himself, but I think we all were hoping someone who worked for Bullydog would be a pretty reliable source of information. Especially someone who seems to be directly involved with the development of this product.

I'm not blaming Bobby at all. I understand that stuff comes up. I think we just had our hopes up this time around.

im sorry if i have upsetted any of you with the news i have provided, but look at it like this, let them take their time to perfect it, instead of rushing it and it turns out to have problems, you know.

let's just wait and hope they are doing a great job because hey if it took this long to get this thing ready, it better be close to perfect you know! and they better throw in a turbo kit or something lol

No to be honest it sounds rather shady.

Look at it this way - you stir up h ype and allow merchants to list the item as a preorder way before it's going to be released.

Yet - they already have a diesel GT so the hardware & guages and software for that is fully developed. They already have a power pup - so the performance enhancement stuff has got to be 95% complete (that is if they are actually trying to add extra features before releasing this).

So what could be a possible motive?

Well if you sell preorders and take payment up front and then when BullyDog says start shipping, you immediately ship those preorders and then notify people it's shipped... Then you have a bundle of money and a bunch of hardware in the mail on an item that doesn't even have online reviews yet.

If it doesn't perform as well as an uprev tune or something and people start reviewing it as such, then they would never have gotten the big sum of preorder $ that they're holding out for now. So they hold this thing off, sell the economy tripple dog gt gas thing in the meantime, and rack up guaranteed preorder $. You guys did read the barbarian return policy I hope (though it was a good deal I must admit, as long as there are no problems with it)...

I wouldn't have purchased this product if I didn't think it was going to come out or wasn't going to be worth the money, but I sure as hell am not going to rush something that can potentially destroy my entire ECU.

Look back at the first posting of this item, the interest thread started in February. And if you haven't noticed a pattern yet, they have said to numerous people like crayzitalian3(and thanks so much btw for keeping us updated ) that "It SHOULD be release in 2 weeks". I'm sure they are working hard and diligently on trying to get this produced released. Look at all the preorders they have had, BullyDog is a reputable company and I highly doubt they wouldn't release something that has already made them a crap load of money from preorders alone. Also, like mcheddadi said, they already have the modul, all it needs now is some tinkering and it'll be ready for gas cars instead of diesel. And I'm almost positive what they are trying to do is try and hit as many ranges of cars that will be able to us the tuner as possible. I mean, wouldn't you?

Bought mine today... got it for $317.46... so I'm not complaining too much... in any case, I wouldn't expect it anytime before the end of the month... but its cool, I can wait... hell we've waited for 4+ months now already... I just feel bad for the people that preordered back in February!

Anyway, if this does what its supposed to do, I'll be pretty happy... now's time to just sit back and wait!

Let us know when you get it. Given that they've missed timelines continuously for the last 6 months, I think I'll hold on to my wallet until they have product.

That roll eye emoticon is very cute.

I'm not going to go as far to say that it's vaporware, but I just think it's a little... unethical to take the money for a preorder without a release date. In cases like this, you should be able to reserve one for when it comes out, but you shouldn't be charged until the product actually ships. Or they should at least make it a "deposit" of sorts where you only put down a fraction of the price to reserve it, not be charged for the whole amount.

Exactly, usually the point of a preorder system is to gauge interest. You don't need to charge the card until it ships. I preordered a book off of Amazon recently and it was delayed a couple months and they only charged the card when the book shipped.

Taking money for under-development products does happen a lot (deposits on real-estate while in construction, new tech like the Tesla roadster, etc), but 70% is just insane. That's the kind of thing that happens when a business has no intention of developing the product, or is on the verge of going out of business.

The fact that they're charging 70% up front tells me that the company doesn't even have the R&D budget to slap a new interface on top of susbtantially complete control electronics. That's why I'm waiting till they have product before I put the money down!

My guess is that the "pre-orders" have been funding R&D for this product. Thanks guys!

I would agree with you 100% on this if this was a BRAND NEW product. They already have the diesel tuner out, they already have the power pup(cheaper version of this one) out, and they aren't a start up company what so ever. They have been around for many many years. But we have been promised by Robert that if the item has not been shipped we can get a full refund. So tbh I'm not worried about getting screwed over.

If you wait till they bring the item out, you are going to end up paying a crap load more money for it then all of us who preordered it. But if it wasn't this cheap I would do the same thing you are doing and wait for others to test it out and see how it is.

What exactly does changing the idle do? If we have it advanced timed +2, should we adjust the idle as well and to what? By the way, I like the Premium setting. Can definitely feel a difference. Anything else we 2.5ers can tweak with the tuner for a little more oompf?
