Actually, Bobby at Bullydog said on the 6th that it would be out in 2 weeks. I understand it's not a notarized press release from Bullydog hand delivered to us by the owner himself, but I think we all were hoping someone who worked for Bullydog would be a pretty reliable source of information. Especially someone who seems to be directly involved with the development of this product.Dest556 wrote:I don't think anybody has EVER given a FIRM date on when this was going to be released. right.. thats why the powerpup is already out and working on our cars and the triple dog gt DIESEL is already out too.1125Altima3.5 wrote:Hate to be a buzz kill guys, but this looks a little like...

That roll eye emoticon is very cute.
I'm not going to go as far to say that it's vaporware, but I just think it's a little... unethical to take the money for a preorder without a release date. In cases like this, you should be able to reserve one for when it comes out, but you shouldn't be charged until the product actually ships. Or they should at least make it a "deposit" of sorts where you only put down a fraction of the price to reserve it, not be charged for the whole amount.mcheddadi wrote:

Exactly, usually the point of a preorder system is to gauge interest. You don't need to charge the card until it ships. I preordered a book off of Amazon recently and it was delayed a couple months and they only charged the card when the book shipped.gearhead05 wrote:

lol, no prob1125Altima3.5 wrote:My guess is that the "pre-orders" have been funding R&D for this product. Thanks guys!
I would agree with you 100% on this if this was a BRAND NEW product. They already have the diesel tuner out, they already have the power pup(cheaper version of this one) out, and they aren't a start up company what so ever. They have been around for many many years. But we have been promised by Robert that if the item has not been shipped we can get a full refund. So tbh I'm not worried about getting screwed over.1125Altima3.5 wrote:Taking money for under-development products does happen a lot (deposits on real-estate while in construction, new tech like the Tesla roadster, etc), but 70% is just insane. That's the kind of thing that happens when a business has no intention of developing the product, or is on the verge of going out of business.
The fact that they're charging 70% up front tells me that the company doesn't even have the R&D budget to slap a new interface on top of susbtantially complete control electronics. That's why I'm waiting till they have product before I put the money down!
My guess is that the "pre-orders" have been funding R&D for this product. Thanks guys!
