Went driving interstate yesterday for a birthday party and towards the end of my 390km journey, driving through some dense forest/bushland on the highway, a big mofo of a kangaroo jumped out of no where and slammed into the passenger side of my car. I was probably doing about 100-105 km/h when it struck my car. My first thought was f***, MY CAR, and looking into the rear view mirror I could see that the roo hadnt survived. So, worried that my car was totally messed up (believe me, i felt guilt enough that I hit it but it wasn't as if it was intentional), I pull over, jump out and inspect the damage. Ummm, WTF, there was NO DAMAGE what so ever to the car. The left hand side indicator has fallen out and was hanging by its wire but I plugged that right back into position and it was as if nothing had happened to the car. I was well and truly impressed. This is Australia, hitting kangaroo's isn't exactly a rare thing to happen on remote highways in the bush, and most cars get seriously messed up, these animals weigh a tonne, and and its not uncommon for a car to be written off (or people killed) because the stupid things jump infront of headlights (something to do with the light hypnotizing them).
All I can say is the G is one well built car, any other car and I don't think I would have been as lucky.
