Does anybody know a good way to make a kill switch? I want one that completely disables the car from running, with or without the key. I have a car that I converted to manual so I can make a kill switch from the shift interlock, but my other car is a factory manual.

I think the clutch interlock switch would be too easy to guess. Any other ideas?

disable your ignition system 50 keys wont start it. The clutch switch could easily be bypassed with a wire. I start mine with no clutch all the time.

Are there any advantages to doing this? (bypassing the clutch) Other than requiring one less step to start the car...

I have an auto right now, but Im just curious for future reference.

Oh shizza I forgot about the fuel pump...that's perfect. hahahaha what an oversight. I was thinking about cutting off the IGN signal to the ECU all that with a switch.

I would do the ignition over cutting into the fuel pump wiring.(needs steady current)

but no spark= no goand you dont need to worry about power to the pump. a bad connection would kill the car by sending her to lean

The switch I have installed kills the car immediately. So if if you were under boost it would be next to nothing because it works so quick...... car at idle is turned off by 3 seconds it misses one time and then is dead.

i cut one of the coil wires on my s13, the engine turns turns but never on (due to the lack of power in the coil), personally i dont like the cluch one cuz u can push the car pop the cluch and it will turn on, dont like the fuel pump eather cuz i dont like to mess with it (im just paranoid i guess)

The fuel pump kill switch is the most tried and used method on Honda-Tech. Where in the bay are you going to kill the battery and alternator which wouldnt be obvious?

I mean, if somebody really wanted to steal your car it would be gone no matter how many kill switches you have in your car. Fuel switch under the dash is obvious i think or any switches like that unless they are very well hidden in a strange spot. if you get a battery/alt disconnect you can get one with a removable key. So if the key isnt in there, it could still be in plain sight and still be a good deterant because the thief would have to connect those wires with some tools.

I just did an install on a Scion which has a hidden fuel pump kill switch located where the ebrake handle is and a starter ground connected to the seat belt sensor. No seat belt on no start signal....
