Ive been searching a lot about this but can find anything really specific. I have an S13 and want to rig up a kill switch for the fuel pump, Im guessing I could install just a switch using the fuel pump relay? Or if I use the actual wires going to the fuel pump I need a bosch relay? What gauge wire? What kind of switch?

Does anybody have any pictures of their install, basically, just where the wires are going to come from, I dont want to fry anything on my car and/or myself

I looked in a chiltons manual and it sucks, and I dont have the money to buy a FSM

Thanks for any help!

you can use any switch on the coil wire of the relay. put it on the ground side for convenience.if you really want to be secore, put the switch on there and move the relay.if anyone knows where it is and wants to steal your car they could still jump the socket if they knew where it was.

Where is the relay? In the fuse box next to the battery? I heard it was labeled EGI something. Whats the coil wire of the relay? Which side is the ground side?

Sorry for asking so many questions but I dont know **** about any of this

it's not impossible,it's pretty common for people to put a kill switch on the fuel pump.so a determined thief can get in..put power to the on terminal.if they don't hear the pump, then they can reach down and pull the relay out and stick a paperclip in the relay socket, and drive away in your rig. it's important to move the relay if you really want to keep your car from being stolen.

I was gonna put a switch directly on the wire that goes to the starter. Then have the switch be like under the dash on the passenger side.

that better be a bigassed switch.the starter pulls quite a bit of current.you're probably better off with putting your switch on the coil of a critical relay,or the clutch interlock like previously suggested.

the clutch interlock is attatched to the starter isnt it? if the clutch isnt pressed it won't even crank. but when i switched mine from auto to manual, i had to jumper the wires for the clutch interlock, so mine is always reading that the clutch is down. i can start the car with the clutch out so i have to be careful its not in gear when i go to start it. i could easily set a switch up to this somewhere since its just two wires i connected and capped.

Or you could do it the good way and hook this system up.. depending on were you place the relays your can is near impossible to steal... now pair that up with relocating the clutch switch and your can is now near steal proof !

it's labeled right on top of the relay wich is coil. it's the one represented by a spiral line.

how do you wire the switch to the relay? I removed the relay itself then tried to remove the plug to get underneath it but I couldnt remove it. Or is there another way to wire it up?

Also, for anybody who wired a switch to the relay, when you routed the wires into the cabin or wherever they were routed, how did you hide them? I was thinking of using one of those plastic wiring tubes.

i think the relay socket has to go out the bottom of the little plastic holder, and there's a clip you have to pry on with a small screwdriver.as far as routing the wire, you should be able to tap into it further from the socket,if you trace it out in the FSM.if you don't want to do that then run it in the main harness till it gets inside then keep it under the dash till it gets where it's going.
