I want to hear about the people you've all raced with your 240SX on the street. With my simple RActive pipe, OBX Header and cone filter I've beat a few decent contenders:

The first is a 3.1L Cavalier which I seemed to pull away from at a walking pace. It was a really fun race which was actually kind of dangerous on the street. It was a rolling start from about 20mph. I think I would have beat him even more if it started from a complete stop as I can launch my 240 pretty good.

Second, a 2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse V6. I thought the Eclipse would have been much faster but it wasn't any better than the Cavalier. This kill involved three consecutive races on the street from a complete stop. I seemed to get a quick start on him and kept pullling away up until about 95mph and then I remained quite a ways ahead of him. Note: the guy also had two passengers with him so I'm sure it made a big difference.

my boy got a 3.4 camaro. he said he can beat my 95 240sx. so i challenged him to a race. when it was a go, i took off on him. by the time i cross the finish line, i was 3 cars ahead of him. both cars were completely stock.

I raced a 2001 Ford Th!nk, I got smoked. But my R/T was a little better, so I got an initial jump. Plus I'm running 8" steelies, I'm sure he has at least 10"ers. But on a track, I think I'd take him. The biggest problem though is that there's no lateral support at all, so you really need to brace yourself with your foot on the floor. (see below if you're confused)-Ryan

in my 89 240-a 94 eclipse with turbo, exausht, and other various upgrades, i kept up with him, started from a rolling start, he went first to signal to go, as soon as i hit the gas i never dropped back, raced him 2 more times, always kept up, another was a niice new firebird, sum very good upgrades, he had exhaust, intake, an it didnt sound like a firebirds engine. started from a stop, he said dont squeel the tires (not to attract attention, cuz if we were to spin em, we woulda made smoke) nose to nose till he hit 2nd gear, then gained on me about 2 feet, stayed at that for the rest of the race. raced a 89 prelude 2 times, first time i smoked him on start, kept the lead, and he missed 2nd gear, went back did it again, and on go, instead of dropping the clutch, i shifted straight into 2nd, realized what i did, went to first, and took off, at the end (bout 30 yards we raced) i was bout 3 feet from his nose. raced a 02 cavailer 5spd, he has cold air, exhaust, and shift kit. raced trhu a corner, i beat him, raced a small straightaway from a roling start, i smoked him. And a 2003 mustang w/ exhaust, he has 3 passengers, i still smoked him, i hate mustangs... like the cobra model tho

The Van (2001 ford windstar)-Raced a 03 sunfire w/ shiftkit, exhaust and cold air, whoped him, it originally started as a race bettween him and another person, i stayed right behind him, bout 2feet from his rear end, his challenge fell back, he switched lanes (i wasnt flooring it when i was behind him) i floored it and flew by him, his g/f was laughing when i looked over. tonight i raced a nice civic h/b, wasnt ricced at all. actually looked nice, he smoked me, we started at 60mph.. jus kept leaving me behind..... gotta give props to him, exhaust sounded nice too. cant think of anymore w/ the van.

The mercury sable (2002)-Raced a 2001 eclipse twice, lost the first time, got him the second, started passing him in 2nd gear, although i had 5 other passengers

Thats about it, when i get my car back, there are about 10 people that want to race me.... and i wanna race mr. 5spd cavalier again cuz he said my car was a POS, that was when i burned out right next to him and left a big *** cloud of smoke...... damn ******* dont kno a good car if it ran him over.....

With the 240, just recently I raced a First Generation GSX at the drag strip. I had already made a few passes and was running in the low 16's (yeah I know, slow, but all i got is intake and exhaust). The guy in the GSX and his buddy in an FC3S (early 90s RX7) roll through tech inspection. The GSX rolls up next to me in the staging lanes wanting to race. I figure what the hell, I don't care if I lose. We line up, he takes forever to stage. The last yellow lights and I take off, slipping the clutch a little to minimize wheelspin. I launch a little ahead of him, go through second, third and then Im waitin for the Mitsu to come up and smoke me. I cross the timing lights at 80ish with the GSX well back in my blind spot. I ran a 16.015, he ran a 16.3, he kinda dissapeared after that. There musta been somethin wrong with that car, cause I know a guy with a practically stock 1st gen who was keeping up with my buddies Stealth RTT who was running in the low 14's

In the ZQ8, around New Years some buddies and I were just messin around. One with a newer model auto Civic pulls up next to me at the light and starts revving. Again, I figure losing is just experience, so we go at it. A bit too much wheelspin in first let him get the jump on me. I caught up to him at 85ish and pulled past him up to 100 then coasted to the next light. He wanted a rematch, so I obliged. This time I left him at the start and only ran up to 50. He gave up. This one is the first honda in my kill marking list, the other is from Autox (98 Qualude Vtec). The two fords are not worth mentioning.

My 240this is gonna take a while there is so many I gotta think of the good ones.I think a 98 Dodge Ram, beat him to 65 and had to get in front of him because someone was ahead of me and I wasnt slowing down.2001-3? Yellow mustang beat him which made the ram above race me.2004 2.2 ecotech Cavalier, smoked me. Of course loosing compression and burning oil slowed me down.2004 Acura RSX was ahead of him them my radar detector went off then he caught up and I was pointing at the radar detector and he gave me a look like he was mad.

eh...350Z...started at a barely roll...shifted to 2nd at like 4k rpm to keep it civil...(we both took a right at the stop light onto a major "highway") he came by me so i floored it...by 120 he was 3 car-lengths back...he did the fly by w/ a thumbs up (i stopped at 120 cuz i'm runnin JDM tyte warped rotors and crappy pads lol) i'm not dangerous i swear:pface

and then a G35 SC..heh only 30-90 on a highway...the G is my dad lol...needless to say he knows what's goin on in THIS driveway now...I park in the garage sucka...bwaahhaha

i have a friend with a 93 accord 5spd. (both cars were stock) he was always bragging about how his car could beat my POS, so one day he challange me and we raced, i beat the sh*t out of him and he has never dogged a 240 again. and there are about 10 other people that want to race me, some integras, eclipse, focus and some probes. but my 240 got rear ended so i have to wait till i get it fixed or get a new one.

I wanted his lane, he wanted mine. He had a 15 mph head start in the left lane, pulled past him at a quick jogging pace. I got my lane, he got his.

I won't count that as a "kill" though...

Hey all I just raced a ford probe tonight with my stock 89 240sx with a hole in the muffler. We were at a red light, I pretty much got like 2ft on him and we pretty much stayed like that till i slowed down. I was in the 5k range of 3rd gear and the engine was just crawling. I dont know if it was a 4cyl or 6cyl but i thought i would have beat him by more.This'll be my first kill with the car.Ben

hey me againJust raced a yellow s-10 98. Im pretty sure he had the 4.3liter Vortec engine cause a regular 4banger s-10 has never beat me.

I was just rolling through the lights working on my pre launch and he pulled up and pointed forward, I nodded and we got ready well we lauched and BOOM, I swear I thought I dropped my transmission, sounded like it. I just stopped even racing at that point. I just went over my whole car and couldnt find anything wrong. Any ideas? Still goes into every gear.

My 95 accord coupe was my most interesting race... Going 132 on the freeway blew me past my 240 friend and a prelude and an integ... but not the crown vic with the vette engin that pulled onto the freeway. All i was thinking was dayam who the f is pulling on me at 130? gotta love those red and blues flashing in your rears...

My most bestest was on the 110 freeway between downtown and pasadena... for those that dont know its an old 3 11foot lanes with curves that make it difficult to maintain 100mph... (most dont exceed 55). I take this freeway a lot in my s13 and one particular day i took on a Mercedes SLK compressor. I was taking the freeway hard, and this dude pulls up and i let him pass... and i stayed on his *** the whole time till the freeway ended... I was impressed, and so was he apperently as chatted at a stoplight for a little while. Good times people... thats what its all about.

My car: 95 s14, auto, intake, thats it. It may be a bit of a factory freak though, cause I beat some cars that should of beat me easily. First is against my friends new, bone stock Mazda Speed Protege. We went from a 20mph roll, with me in first gear. I pull and stay ahead until around 60, by a half a car, and he shut down. Next is against a foxbody 5.0, from a 30mph roll, I pulled about a half a car, and he shut down at around 60. Then again, but this time from a 60mph, dead even til around 80, he pulled a half car, shut down at around 100 with him still about a half a car ahead. My best kill was against a new sentra SE-R (not Spec-V) 5 speed, with intake. We went from a 45mph roll, he got the jump, but I slowly started to catch up, he shut down at around 90mph with me a half car ahead! I know I didnt kill these cars by very much, but I was surprised to hang with them, especially the MSP and SE-R, 2 brand new cars with more WHP than me. Go 240!!

my most recent kills, I also beat a 5.0 foxbody mustang on the highway.we started at about 80 and i just slowly pulled ahead by about 3 feet. a cavalier from a first gear roll. and a mazda 626 also on the highway.(that was fun)

[/quote]I don't know, the stock 4.3 Vortec only has 190 flywheel hp (at least mine does). It is a nice engine, with good torque and a nice high end coupled with good gear ratios (at least with the ZQ8 rear end). My buddy was always raggin on how crappy and slow my truck was until I let him borrow it when his Stealth was in the shop. He had so much fun with it he spun my passenger rear tyre bald. AWD would make a helluva difference.Um if I remember correctly AWD was only on the GMC Typhoon and Syclone and they were both powered by the Grand National turbo v6. Unless yer confusing AWD with 4WD.

Nope not confusing 4WD with AWD, AWD was a option in 96 for the FULL size blazers only. Ill take a picture if you want me too. I drove a 98 RWD blazer but never got the chance to see what it had cause it was my uncles and he was sitting right next to me. I know my friend has the 4banger 2.2l and it keeps up with my 240, but my 240 isnt the healthiest one right now either.

hmmmmv6 tiburon - CAIintegra - I/H/E etcturbo civicmustang GT - i/h/e from a roll on at about 70. Dropped it 3rd, chirped, topped 4th walked the hell out of it twice.dodge ram 1500 - believe it or not the closest competition. roll on at 50 to 100. it kept up and few other ricers and such.oh yeah, i have a SR with intake, 3in dp and tp, at stock boost.

Once tried to race a corvette with an old guy and his daughter in it, in my auto 240, yeah i know... neways we took off and i was winning, then he pulls up next to me, downshifts aaaand was gone... it was fun though
