wow what an idiot. How the hell do you top out 3rd in a neighborhood. He should be put in jail. Also his gas wasn't stuck. It was human error. Since he was going to fast and attemping to drift..... He lost control and went into shock cause his foot to step on the gas to the floor till he comes to.

How do i know this? I have drifted in my corolla and i lost control went into shock foot stuck on the gas everything went black. Ran over 3 wood logs and made a mouse pad size dent on the side of some rusted truck. My car would have fliped over and i would have been dead if that truck didn't stop me

To his defense, there is a recall on the throttle cables that needs to be fixed. This is a classic example of what will happen if you dont get it fixed and the cable gets caught. I guess I should get off my *** and get my car in for this recall.bud

Wow...what a moron. I don't care if the throttle was stuck. You have no business driving if you are too numb to reality to realize all you must to do stop the car is push in on the little pedal on the left. I mean...I've lost control like that hundreds of times in my Ranger wet/snow+2wd+ truck+ no wieght in bed=whoopsydrift) and I have never every lost it and "blacked out." i just stay calm and feel it out (shut up) and see how to best pull out of it. Anyone who can't do that doesn't deserve to drive a fast car...or ANY car...my ranger put under 100 hp to the wheels, not exactly fast.

i can kind of understand what he is saying, and probably just paniced and couldnt think of anything to do. Thats why you need to remain calm.

What a waste...

I spun my S14 out 2 weeks ago playing in the rain but I did it in an open area and i was trying to see the car's breaking point. I always push my vehicles to see how they react when I first get them. And it's easier to do in the rain and less destructive on the tires.

Can't wait for the next rain...

I just read about half of it.(out of 12 pages)

I don't really have any comments other than he's just being a kid. I had my first wreck when I was 16 for wreckless driving. I'm 18 now, and I haven't had any close calls that were my fault. Someday he may learn to be a decent driver.. but it usually takes a major wreck. (Or in his case, 3)

BTW I thought this was hilarious:

Won't make any difference. People who can't drive can't drive, it doesn't matter whether its a Kia or a Ferrari. The kid will just run into things with a Kia instead. Of course, there are two benefits: 1) we can laugh at him for buying a Kia, then wrecking it2)Kia's warantee should cover any future "throttle stickage" and the resulting accidents.

I do beleive I just found a way to make money.

I feel really sorry for him, he had a really nice car... when you are a young driver you just don't think about that stuff as it is happening. I wrecked my escort when I was 17, I started to slide on a wet road and it was like *panic!*Everyone who posts and says "damn I'm such an awesome driver, that kid shouldn't be allowed to drive" is kidding themselves and tempting the reaper.

The throttle recall thing is real, it happens when you put it on cruise too.

But aside from that, he was going too fast. I HAD a WRX, and redlining in 3rd is going VERY fast indeed, redline in 2nd is like 60mph, I think third is probably 90, that's FAST to be in a neighborhood. Glad no one got killed.

isn't it odd to anyone that he hasnt talked about paying back any of the damages to his neighbors?
