I know mounting the midbass and tweeers in kickpods are the best way to achieve a good sound stage, but I don't want to sacrafice the limited amount of space I have for my left foot. That being said, how would having the mids mounted in the doors and a small kickpod for the tweets affect imaging?

Good idea or bad idea?

Like this, but on a waaaaaaay simpler level. Dont' mind the tweets mounted up on the dash. They are a part of CDT's "CenterStage kit" and are only supplemental to the ones mounted in the footwell.

I would not recommend doing this.

Tweeters, more specifically, high frequencies are highly directional, and are easily reflected/absorbed. So, when you're driving the car your left leg is going to block the tweeter, and thus cause the highs to be very muffled from the left speaker.

If anything I'd recommend that you place the tweeters up high. The most common places are the sail panel, or the a-pillar.

Beware though, if you do this you highs are going to be extremely overpowering, and should get a little bit of time correction, but that's not neccesary.

If you just want cleaer highs, go ahead and mount the tweeters where I suggested
