I am going to put illuminated kick plates in my G37 but have some questions:

1) The back plates are plain aluminum without the logo. The standard ones have the logo, though they are not all aluminum. I am somewhat torn between keeping the standard ones or the new ones. Did you exchange the back ones?

2) How exactly are the inner covers being removed? The inner covers have a right angle with a horizontal part and a vertical part (on the inside). It seems you first pull the vertical part towards the inside which disengages clips. Are you then just lifting it from the lower edge of that vertical piece by pulling the vertical piece up? If so do you let it 'twist' around the outer horizontal edge or are you supposed to pull it up so the horizontal piece stays level at all time, i.e. lift it from inside and outside simultaneously?

3) On the back the cover is right against the seat. In that area are you also just first just pulling the cover towards the inside?

4) What did you use for the nylon removal tool? In the past I always just used my hands. It's not ideal because you can't always get right to the mounting point and needs a bit more force but it usually worked just fine.

I have taken off quite a few panels (door, roof, pilars, etc) on my old car but I'm just super careful on not breaking anything on my new (used) G37.
