I just picked up a used 2001 pathfinder LE. The keyless entry doesn't work very well. I have to hold down the unlock or lock buttons for a while before it works. There's also a pretty bad delay before the door actually locks or unlocks. And it only works about 50% of the time. I tried changing the battery and the still the same.

Is this just how it is and all of you have the same issue as me? or is there something i can do to fix it.

Thanks

Fob is dying. I've got 175,000 miles on my '01 SE, and I'm using fobs#4, 5, and 6 (OK, one's a hot spare).

You can get new, or good used, fobs from e-bay. BE CAREFUL, there are twoversions of the '01 fob and they have the same FCC ID: KBRASTU10. The difference is in the Model. Mine is / A, which is the less common one. I THINK(could be VERY wrong here) the other is Model: /1A (if I'm wrong, somebodyplease correct me). The two versions are not interchangeable, and if you getan e-bayer who only cares about the FCC number, RUN away.

They willprobably supply you with programming instructions, if not, you can Googlethem up. No special tool required.

BTW, I've tried a bunch of things to resurrect very marginal fobs, without success. A meter tells me it's not the switch. And I've cleaned all the battery contacts. My guess is that it's somewhere in the analog transmitter circuitry where some analog component has drifted to the edges of theits tolerances.

I have a similar problem - trying to identify the right remote fob for my Pathfinder R50, to buy the correct one at ebay. My remote stopped operating after accidental immersion into water :frown:.

Now the problem is my fob has nothing written on the back except for the battery type. Mine has an oval shape and has four buttons. The only clue i can give is the circuit board. I can't get the pictures posted, so here are the links:

Can anyone check their remote to see if the circuit matches my pictures? If so, what is the FCC and model of your fob.

Thanks
