Keyless Entry

Greetings Everyone,

I am a 20 yr old college student and recently I purchased a 1996 Dark Purple J30. It has 68,500 miles. Does anyone have any advice in terms of maintenance or possible issues that i should look out for?

Also, the car only came with one key. How can I get a keyless entry? Should I go to a dealer or somewhere else?

No offense but a J30 probably wasn't the best choice for a 20 year old college student...

Thanks.I found that Circuit City can provide me with a Remote Start/ Keyless Entry System for $199.

Might I add the J30 Infiniti had only 68K miles, and it is a 1996. The CarFax report was fine, along with the car passing inspection. I purchased the car for less than 4K not including taxes.

With all due respect, knowing this info, do you still think the J30 was not a good choice?

Before looking at the Infiniti, I looked at '00 and '01 Altimas. All of them had at least 75K miles.

I think what he was getting at is a J as most other Lux cars can cost quite a bit to maintain.

Struts come to mind.580.00 for all 4 , And thats just the cartridges and rear shocks. the whole shebang with all the rubber components you should replace are around 800.00.But if you maintain that J you will get MANY years out of it.Just read all the info here and learn what needs to be done and when.

Did the previous owner get the timing belt changed? Thats gonna run you about 900 in parts & labor.
