Keyless Entry only unlocking

I have a 1994 300zx, I replaced the Battery on the Fob and the only thing it will do is unlock the doors. The alarm will not go off, and the other buttons do nothing. If I click the unlock button after they are unlocked I can hear the acuator that is it. The Clearance lights do not blink after I click it more than once. Also, the security light comes on if I lock the doors but goes off ones I unlock them. Keyless entry is completely new to me so any help is appreciated.
