Keyless entry and service engine light

I have a 1997 Nissan Maxima and recently replaced my car speakers, except for the passenger side front. Since then, but not immediately following, my service engine soon light has come on.

In addition, my keyless entry has stopped functioning correctly. In the past when locking my car remotely, my parking lights would flash. They no longer do this. The other problem that I'm having is that my keyless entry locks and unlocks all doors except the passenger side front, which is the door that I didn't touch when replacing my speakers.

I've read that the service engine soon light relates to emission problems. But is it possible that these concurrently occuring problems are interrelated? Maybe as simple as a bad fuse?

Any opinions/advice would be greatly appreciated!
