From the 1997 J30 Owner's Manual, page 2-5:

"MULTI-REMOTE CONTROL SYSTEM"It is possible to lock/unlock all doors, to open the driver's and front passenger's windows, to release the trunk lid and to turn on or off the interior light by using the remote controller from outside the car."

Okay, I got the lock/unlock, the trunk lid and the interior light. And I read reference to lowering the windows by holding down the "unlock" button. But I've not gotten it to work. My remote is the original that came with the car.

Is this supposed to work, was it a typo, or am I missing a step?

I have a '95 J30. Never heard of this or seen it at work.

My brother used to have a Maxima that did this, but I've never seen a J with this feature. When I bought the car I assumed it would do it, but it doesn't. On the Maxima when you hold down the unlock button it would roll the windows down. On the J it just unlocks all the doors. At least that's what it does on my '93.

Well, surely not a huge deal. But the factory blurb page promised Homelink, too.

Eh, Datsun never was much for writing manuals. My 2000's book tells of the passing beam flasher on the end of the turn signal stalk.

The owners manual is garbage..... It should do this, The Qs do it, but maybe the maximas didnt do that... If the FSM says that it doesnt do it, then it wont do it!!

Well, I might not go that far.... the folder is pretty nice, unless you want to acutally put a pair of gloves in the glovebox along with it. But it does seem odd that they skip over things like any mention of a CD changer, but go on to show a cross-section of the AC compressor. "Never mind the tunes, dear. Where did I leave my snap-ring pliers?"
