Does anyone know if this could happen. I don't know if its my battery going bad or its just the car. But i want to to have a longer range. Does anyone know how I could do this?

If you've never replaced your battery then its time.

My battery is at least two years old, and I can activate my alarm from my third floor apartment, with the car in the closed garage!

Elevation does seem to have a positive effect on the distance at which the remotes work. I've noticed that I can hit the alarm farther away from higher up, must be how the signal emanates.

Yeah... I'm sure that RF signals are heavier than air. Jacko, wanna chime in on this?

Really though, my garage is directly below, with a large building just across the alley, which likely acts as a reflector for the signal.

have you considered trying out the time honored magic trick? point your remote against your head. seriously, ive done it and it almost doubles range of my intelli key. JEREMY CLARKSON DID IT...

Yes, I can vouch for that too. I have used that technique many times.

Time to replace it. $hit happens when you least expect it.

Very true... I have been thinking that very thing lately. Time for a trip to Radio Shack.
