Hey guys,I am a 04 g35 owner and a surfer. I was wondering how bad it would be if I took my key into the water with me secured in my wet suit. Any idea how detrimental to the security chip the salt water would be?

If you were a rafter you would put the key inside of a special waterproof bag made for the purpose of keeping things dry like these.

Well, the way a wet suit works is it brings the water in the suit up to body temperature therefore the inside of the suit still gets wet. There is no such "plastic bag" that keeps anything dry in a wet suit. Hence why I would like to know if it would be catastrophic if a 04 Infiniti G35 key was in salt water for an extended period of time. Smart a**.

Not to burst your bubble but he is right. There is such a thing you can use in the wet suit to keep your key or other things dry.

I have a sail board in the garage! Rafters use these all the time and they work great. For me I really had no need for one since I didn't use a wet suit, I used a dry suit.

I've seen those before so I knew what you were talking about. That's why I put the link in.

If I go to the beach I usually go to the same one. Long Point and there is a little store where I usual stop by. Buy couple of cold drinks and ask if I can park at the back of the building. I leave my car key with them and leave few bucks extra. At least I know it won't get scratched either.
