I can't get my key out of the ignition. It seems that the solenoid is dead because it started to be a little erratic before it stopped altogether. Is there a way to test the Park switch on the shifter by jumping two wires? Any tips on the solenoid are welcome. Search didn't yield much. Thanks.

Check diagnostic procedure 2 in the AT shift lock system... You DO have a FSM, right? if not email me...
There is an emergency switch above the ignition switch... Take off the piece of cladding and you can press the release lever.....

Have you ever had a problem just turing the key after you put it in the ignition? If so, then probably one of the tumblers is broken. I had this problem in my Q. Also, it could be that the key release button may be stuck.
