Key Programming for 2006 Infiniti M35X

I just bought this car used and the dealership lost one of the keys. He bought me a new key but it was not programed. I have one key and I would like a second as a back up. I've read about one of your posts with instuctions but it was it leaves a couple of things out and doesn't say about the posibilities of losing the original programed key. Can the insert & remove the key method work or is it a stealership only thing? If the insert & remove key method will work can you give me clear instructions. I hate to have to drive 45 min to the stealership and give them $95 for something I could do at home. The bone head car-lot that sold me the car is no help in this case! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Don't understand why the dealership would give you a non-programmed key. Go back to them and get it done.

Used car dealership lost the extra key and later on gave me a new key that they said the had to buy off the infiniti dealership for $300. Of course the new key is blank and was not programmed, so the next thing is can I do it myself or do I take the 1 hour drive down the turnpike to the dealership and pay them $95. The great used car dealer I bought the car from is done with this case after what I said to him.

The 2006 M can only be programmed by the Consult, which is a dealer only tool. I would call a local Nissan dealer & see if they have the right Consult card to program it for you since the Infiniti dealer is so far away.

I've already had it to the local Nissan dealer and they tryed but failed! Looks like I have to take the big ride! I'll let you know how we make out.
