So I bought my Versa used and it only came with one key. I looked online and found them for $18 (http://www.autotransponder.com/2008_nis ... der_chip_1) so I called Nissan in Marietta, GA how much it'd be to cut and program it, they said $98. I've never have had a pleasant experience with that dealership so for kicks I called the dealership by my parent's house in PA, they said $40. Is that usual for Nissan dealerships to have varying costs by that much?

You might call around to some locksmiths and see if they program. Could be cheaper than the stealership.

Called 3 local locksmiths that do transponder keys: $115, $95 and $85. Think I'll wait until the next time I take a road trip back home.

I got quoted $50 for just the key and $98 for the 1hour labor cost, up here in Canada and thought it would be a lot cheaper down in the US....I guess not

I bought 3 keys on Ebay and had the local hardware store cut them and then had the dealer program the entire bunch for $50. There was not a price difference for 1 or 5 keys so I had the two original and 3 new programmed.
