so i check all my fuses and they were all good, but i replaced the key/shift lock fuse anyways. the result - key lock still won't release. so then i go to the trusty old owners manual and it said that it might not release the key if the car battery doesn't have enough charge. wtf. so i charged my battery, but its still it is not releasing. so i use the emergency switch as my last resort. (there is a emergency release button you can switch but you're not suppose to use it unless its an emergency.) Flipped the switched and it finally came out YAY. but when i put the key back in, it got stuck again. so i kept using the emergency key release button to release my key. after flipping that **** so much, my car wouldnt start.....so i stopped using that god forsaken button. After one day, I got my car to start again.....
So here are my questions and ill be grateful if someone can help me.
1. Why isn't my key releasing? (Just happened all of a sudden one day. I was involed in an accident though but for a week but the key would release in that week.
2. What does that god forsaken emergency release button actually do? (Everytime i press it, then start the engine, it laggs big time to start up. and if i press it too much, something *****ks up and my car doesn't start at all.)
3. My last resort, but does anyone know how to disbable key lock and does doing this create other problems?
These are my questions so far. Here are my car specs.
91 240sx SE model. auto transmission. completely stock.
thanks in advance for your help.
p.s. i did the steering wheel and shifter jiggle, doesn't solve anything.
