is there any way to disable the key lock?

or if you help me on this one...

i installed a turbo timer on my 89 240sx. it was an auto but is now a manual. after installing my timer, i found out i cannot take out my key while the timer is counting down. the key lock will open and give me my key once it finishes counting down or i manually turn off the timer. so i need some help with that.

its a blitz turbo timer. i talked to blitz and the dood wasnt of much help.

yes you can disable the key lock. Remove the steering coloum covers behind the steering wheel. on the side of the ignition switch is a solonoid near where the key goes in. Remove the solonoid from the key cyl. That should eliminate it.

cool thanks. i should have done that. i tapped the wrong wire into connector E106 i believe for key/shift lock and i think i may have shorted out the timer.

blows.

anyhoos the timer was always on and kept my accessories on all the time. so finally i disconnected the timer and now all my accessories work normally.

what kind of continuity am i supposed to have between power and ground? they should be open amongst each other is what i though. my meter is reading 19 - 21 ohms. does this indicate something is wrong?

im not too worried about it. i could always get another timer. i only paid $30 for the timer from ebay. but i shure wish i could put that $30 into another timer.

you will have resistance through the timer but not to the battery or the ground wire. I am not sure what exactly your doing when you say "between power and ground"
