I've had my car for a while and slowly it started to be hard to get my key to turn to turn my car on. Now I can't even get my car to start. I took the panels from around the ignition coil (i think that's what it's called) and I can now turn my car on by taking the part hooked to many wires and just twisting it to start where the steering wheel lock and the piece connected to all the wires meet. The only problem is is that I cannot take the steering wheel lock off to drive the car. Is there any way I can bypass this? I have the key with the hole in the middle and it seems like the security wall isnt pushing up for me to start it up regularly. how much is it going to be to buy and install a brand new security wall or lock for the steering wheel? I might even have to get a new key to start the car? Is this repairable or what? Thanks alot guys. hope to hear from you soon, I really need to get my car rolling!

Ouch!! It is a big damn deal now that you have jammed the lock. Look in FSM-not an easy 30 min job.

Take it to a locksmith and have the ignition switch removed and the cylinder rebuilt. Be prepared to spend a few hundred.
