Hey guys, ok so heres whats up. Im pretty sure all my keyhole are stripped and all fuuckedd up. The key goes into my drivers side door half way, then u twist it and you dont even hear a click or anything and the door opens. Then i tryed opening the door with any key, and low and behold, it opens with anything that goes into the hole and twists. Now, im not too sure about my passenger side door, but im assuming the same thing, and i think my key doesnt work for the truck. What can i do to fix this problem? is it better to fix it myself or get it professionally done? Anything information will help, thanks guys.

Yeah, you can use the cylinders from a junkyard 240 if it has the key inside. I've come across a few in the junkyard with the keys still in them or just buy a used set off some guy from over the seas, less of a chance that he'll come back and steal your wheels. Or just get a new set here http://www.courtesyparts.com/b....html

I'm not sure how much it is to buy those thing but i do know that when you get them Nissan can have them re-keyed to match you existing key so you don't have a key for the doors and a separate on for ignition.

i tried ordering the set from nissan but apparently its discontinued

and if you get all of the cylinders seperately, all your keys will be different

Ok, so lets say i take the key cylinders from my buddies mashed up 240 sitting in his drive way, the 2 doors, and trunk. Then i could just get thoes fitted to my keys so that i dont need 2, one for doors then for the ignition? Where would i get them installed and fitted? besides nissan, because im pretty sure their mechanics charge like $100 an hour or something rediculas like that.

hmmm really? that can be done? because if so, then i might just go ahead and order all the lock cylinders seperately and then just get all of them matched to the ignition key... more info please

I'm having a similar problem where I can't even unlock the driver's side door from the inside. I can open my passenger's side door fine, but when I try to close it, it doesn't latch on and just bounces back open. The connections look ok. Any suggestions?

I have a 1993 240sx.
