idk if this has been brought up before but you guys think it would be nice to fit a cover on the driver's side keyhole to give that illusion that our cars really doesn't need a key...ii came across a website that offers a magnetic keyhole cover but only makes em for corvettes...it would be nice to have the same made and concept for our coupes...what do you guys think?

bye bye lakers...nice season, see you next year huhu

not something i would pay a bundle for but a good idea all the same.

not that anyone is looking at the key hole when they see our coupes. It's all about that sexxy A55.

cool thx! but still don't want to resort in buying a whole door handle..i want something that can plug up the hole maybe using magnetic so i can easily take it off or even a plastic cap(matching the color of course) and just pry it off if ever needed..

There use to be a cover that a guy on the Z28 forums made.. Let me see if I can dig up the website for you guys, IIRC then these would only be $20 MAX .. how many keyholes do we have? may only be 10 lol

My ninja edditing has failed me ... oh well. Its called Smoothlocks, why for the life of me i could not recall this is far beyond me.. Here ya go boys, enjoy! http://www.phantomss.com/smoothlock/ you can buy pre-painted in black, or primed ready to be color matched

Also spoke directly with the guy that makes these, he says if the sizes on the website dont match up to what we have, he can make a custom size. It just requires a certain quantity to be made (I guess material size) Ill check it out later and see how many we would need if the size doesnt match up!

It's not the whole handle that your replacing. Just the piece that goes where the lock is.

If you try and buy that part from the dealership, like mentioned in the other thread that was linked, the guy stated that you had to buy the whole whole handle assembly for the passenger door and then take that piece and replace it on the driver side to cover up the key hole.

My AC has the intellikey option, so I don't even have a key for it. Am I supposed to have one in case of a dead battery, etc.??

Do you know if the paint colors the same as used on the a/c ? Or do I have to do a teeny-tiny little paint job?

Thx! Will def check it out..i know this isnt a big mod but when you have someone hovering round your ac, amazed how you don't need a key to enter, you dont want them asking "what's the keyhole for?" Kinda ruins the trick hehe..o and shift coupe, the key cover you're directing me at, in my opinion, is too big therefore would require a paint job that would match your car..whereas a little magnetic cap that we could plug in the actual key hole is less noticeable..even like a rubber of some kind so it would match the key entry button..

Mavric, when you have a moment could you please reduce the picture in your sig to the maximum size of 600x200. Thanks!

My salesman neglected to tell me about the key being in the fob also. Had to read it in the Owner's Manual. He also told me that inserting the fob in the dash hole when the battery in it was low was to "recharge the fob battery", but the OM says it's only to start the car when the fob battery is low and the battery must be replaced soon after.

My salesman also told me right before I drove off the lot.

But I got home and I couldn't figure out how to open the trunk. Is it only with the key? There's no trunk popper like for the hood and gas tank?

the button inside the car to pop the trunk should be somewhere right around where you can insert the fob

Look to the right of your rear license plate on the bottom of the lighted overhang...you should find a button like the one on the doors.

there is a little button like on your door handle under the right side of the license plate light that if u have the key on you you can just touch that button and it will pop the trunk......hope that helps.
