key gets stuck in ingnition after swap

Ok the other day i helped my freind put a dual cam in his car now that we did that his key gets stuck in the ignition any help would be appreciated

did you try to press the lock button? Well changing the motor should not affect your key. If you cant get it to work go to 'pick-a-part' and get a different one.

did you swap it over to a 5 speed as well? if so, if the wiring isnt right it wont let you have your key back

really? when i did my 5 speed swap i had no key problems

That's prolly because you wired it up correctly but if you for get the neutral safety switch(i belive that's what it's called) then the car will think it's still in gear and not give back the key

I did some research for you and that is problaly what the problem is. I didnt think of that because I guess mine was unhooked by the previous owner lol.

I would check it out.

that makes sense, i totally forgot about that. mine was removed because my transmission was all jacked up on the gear box and when u pushed the stick to far up it wouldnt start and it only would when my friend did some crazy ritual to start it lol

yea we did we had to pull the e brake 3 times put it in park crank it, put it in neutral crank it, put it in first crank it, 2nd crank it, 3rd crank it, put it in park crank it and it started right up lol

ya i didnt wire it up so but it is probobly the newtral safety switch cause he didnt wire that up
