key for the glove box

I never got the key for the glove box with the car, and neither did the previous owner. The glove box is unlocked but i want to be able to lock it so i have somewhere to put my valuables (like my stereo faceplate) while the t-tops are off. So here's my question...

Do i have to buy a complete new lock set or can i get a key made for it? thanks.

Your key for your ignition should also work for your glovebox.

I only have the valet key for my car and it will not lock the glove box. I know a lock smith can cut a main key pretty easy, I just haven't had a chance to get 'er done.
