Ok here we go. I'm the new guy on the block.I have been following this site since I purchased the car and found the discussion threads veryinteresting and insightful. I purchased a 2007 G35 the beginning of October and am having problems with my key fobs. The batteries seem to drain pretty fast to say the least. I have replaced them twice in each fob. Any ideas or suggestions would sure be appreciated. The batteries aren't much to replace but it is starting to get annoying. Thanks Nordster07

Could be that the key FOB is possibly bad itself.

Make sure that you don't keep the fob next to your cell phone.

I had the issue due to the cabinet where I keep my key being to close to the car. Moved the cabinet and issue went away.

Not sure if you have the same problem but I thought it worth mention it.

Have you tried your other fob? What kind of battery did you buy and where did you buy it?

Some batteries might be old sitting on the shelf. Don't buy cheap one.

Load up some pictures so we can drooooool all over your car.

We love pictures.

Mine went dead pretty quick when I bought my car. I went to Wally World and bought a battery and it went dead quick too. I was kinda miffed by it and went to Infiniti. They gave me a battery and it has lasted a long time. I guess sometimes you just get bad batteries. Maybe it would be a good thing to take a battery tester with you.

I have notice that fresh brand name batteries seem to last longer assuming nothing is wrong with the car and that the ikey buttons weren't being used.

Thanks for the reply's. I purchased the batteries at Batteries Plus. I have heard to keep the fobs away from your cell phone but why would you have to do that? All other cars I have had had no issues with the batteries going dead within 3 to 4 weeks. I also heard that there was a recall on the fobs. I will try another store and see what happens. If I get the same results I will contact the Infiniti dealer and see how far I can go getting them replaced under the existing warranty. Thanks for the welcome fellow posters.

Oh yeah I forgot about the recall. Early 07's had the recall. Check your fob. All you have to do to take the key out and check if there is a double circle. If there is than you've got the new one. With the new one you don't have to be carefull being close to the cell phone. I do that with mine all the time. They are in the same pocket.

Take the key out of the fob and you should be able to see it. It is around the right bottom part . If you can't than you still have the old one. But I am sure you call Ininiti they can check it in the system for you also.

That is very interesting and useful information. I seem to have the old fobs and will be contacting my Infiniti dealer and have them replaced. Thanks everyone!
